This March I'm presenting at the Native American Literature Symposium (NALS). The paper, titled "In Motion Forever: Digital Performance and Activism in the Poetry of Janet Rogers," investigates the experimental poetry/sound performances of Janet Rogers, a contemporary Mohawk writer and performance artist whose work deserves way more attention. This conference paper also continues the line of research initiated in my dissertation on experimental indigenous poetics, which I'll eventually turn into a book.
I also have two poetry readings coming up! The first is on February 3rd at Northern Michigan University with creative non-fiction writer/totally awesome colleague Rachel May. The second is on February 18th at Ore Dock Brewing with fiction writer/totally awesome colleague Monica McFawn as part of the Bards & Brews series.
The spirit of language is generous, and I'm grateful for these opportunities.
Now: back to shoveling snow.
